GER 101 Elementary German I (3)

This course emphasizes the acquisition of basic communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in German. Students are given the linguistic tools needed to meet survival needs and limited social demands. Attention is also given to developing an awareness of the culture of German-speaking countries. Offered every Fall Semester.

GER 102 Elementary German II (3)

This course continues the development of cultural awareness and basic communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Prerequisite: GER 101 with a grade of C or better, or permission of the instructor. Offered every Spring Semester.

GER 201 Intermediate German I (3)

This course reviews and practices basic skills while further expanding listening, speaking, reading and writing skills on the intermediate level. There is continued development of listening/viewing skills and cultural awareness. Prerequisite: GER 102 with a grade of C or better, or permission of the instructor. Offered every Fall Semester.

GER 202 Intermediate German II (3)

This course is a continuation of the review and practice of basic skills and further expands listening, speaking, reading and writing skills on the intermediate level. There is continued development of listening/viewing skills and cultural awareness. Prerequisite: GER 201 with a grade of C or better, or permission of the instructor. Offered every Spring Semester.

GER 450 Special Topics in German (1-3)

This course provides an opportunity for advanced study in German language, literature, and civilization. (It may include a study program in Germany, independent study, or special courses taught at Greensboro College.) Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor and of the Dean of the Faculty. Offered periodically based upon student need.
