Admissions Information
Freshman Applicants:

Admission to Greensboro College is based on several factors. The College seeks to identify and enroll students who have the preparation and potential for success at the College.

In order of importance, the College evaluates candidates for admission on the following factors:
1 Strength of course selection
2 Grade point average
3 Standardized test scores
4 Leadership activities in and out of the high school setting
5 Written essay (optional)

Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply in the fall semester of their senior year. The Early Action Plan is designed for students who have submitted and/or postmarked a complete application by December 16, 2006. Students who meet this deadline are usually awarded the best financial aid packages, invited to the earliest Orientation and Registration weekend and receive the first choice of residence hall rooms.

The Office of Admissions operates on a rolling basis, meaning that there is no deadline for applications to be submitted. Students may apply for the fall or spring semester.

A complete application consists of the following items:
1 The application form
2 Official high school and/or college transcripts or GED records
3 Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) scores
4 $35 application fee
5 Written essay (optional)

Transfer Applicants:

Greensboro College welcomes transfer students and awards transfer credit on an individual basis for courses successfully completed at accredited universities, senior colleges, junior colleges, community colleges and technical colleges. Students should follow the same application procedures as freshmen. Transfer students should also have official transcripts from any college they have attended sent to the Greensboro College Office of Admissions. If a transfer student has earned at least 26 semester hours in college, high school records and standardized test scores are not required.

Students interested in admission are encouraged to submit a transcript for course evaluation. This service is offered to students before an application is submitted. Please contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-346-8226 for more information about transferring to Greensboro College.
