Medical Services

The athletic training staff assures that each student-athlete receives medical clearance through the recording of a personal medical history and insurance information, plus completion of a pre-participation exam performed free of charge by our team physicians.

Event and practice coverage is provided by both certified athletic trainers and students within the ATEP.  High risk sports, such as football and men’s lacrosse, have a certified athletic trainer present at all times.  Certified athletic trainers are available every day for all GC student-athletes. Staff is present at every Pride competition site throughout the season.

In the event of an injury, all athletes can be referred to our team physicians for immediate medical treatment.  Once treated, injury rehabilitation typically occurs at one of our athletic training facilities. Student-athletes requiring surgery or extensive rehabilitation are treated at Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists or the Sports Medicine Center. If an athlete becomes ill, the Student Health Center is open every day of the week. The school physician is available twice weekly and the school psychologist is available once a week. The team physician is available for drop-in visits twice-a-week at the Student Health Center. The director of counseling is available by appointment, and is located on the third floor of the Main Building.
