Beyond All Conference PowerPoint
We will now begin what we call “Beyond All-Conference” honors. These individuals are making their way to stage left to receive this recognition.
As mentioned earlier in our program, Greensboro College student-athletes earned an impressive eight “major all conference” honors this past year. And there are three student athletes that have yet to be recognized on stage for these distinctions.
The first is freshman football player Brick Crowder. Brick had an outstanding first year at GC and won the conference defensive rookie of the year award.
Junior Eric Hatchett was presented the USA South Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament most valuable player honor.
Next, freshman Christie Hebert (hee-bert) closed her fine year by winning the women’s lacrosse rookie of the year honor.
These student-athletes have achieved significant honors dubbed “Beyond all Conference.” Please note, however, that there will be other regional, all-state, academic, and other distinctions that have yet to be announced. These will be recognized at a later date. In the meantime, it is my pleasure to introduce nine more “beyond all-conference” honorees.
The first is junior Lynn Bright. In addition to helping GC to a conference regular season crown and earning USA South MVP honors, he earned first team all south region honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Congratulations, Lynn.

Next up is women’s soccer player Ashley Cabral. A junior midfielder, Ashley was picked to the all-state team by the North Carolina Sports Information Associationor NCCSIA (Nick-suh). Well done.
Junior Sara Joy Daniels was picked to the CoSIDA District volleyball Academic team. Congratulations, Joy.
Men’s soccer player Robert Fricke picked up a lot of hardware this past Fall. He was named to the NCCSIA (Nick-suh) all-stat team and named second team all-region by both D3Kicks.com and the NSCAA. Good job, Robert.
Junior defensive lineman Logan Greene also earned all-region recognition. He was named to the Football Gazette honorable mention team.
Basketball senior Staci Humphrey closed her Pride career with many honors. She was first team all-region and a second team All-America selection from D3Hoops. She was named to the WBCA honorable mention team for the second straight year, too. Good luck, Staci!
Senior Tyrelle Lee didn’t necessarily win an award: instead he made a pro football roster while still finishing up his degree at Greensboro College! Tyrelle has already had outstanding performances for the Greensboro Revolution indoor football team. Way to to, Tyrelle!
Senior defender Charlie Rierson closed his GC career by being named to the NSCAA All-Region second team. Nice work, Chuck!
Our last “beyond all-conference” winner is senior Lauren Smith. Lauren was selected to both the NCCISA (Nick-suh) all state team and to the CoSIDA District volleyball Academic third team.
