Newcomers PowerPoint Slides

The newcomer award winner in women’s cross country is freshman Tiffany Austin. “Tiffany is an extremely hard worker,” noted Coach Tuggle. “Her great positive attitude and hard work will be a big part in building this program.”

Freshman Toni Battaglia is the women’s lacrosse top newcomer. "Toni led the team in draw controls, and was an integral part of our program on both sides of the field,” Coach Dixon said. “Not only did she shine on the field, Toni is always ready to provide comic relief."

The baseball newcomer award is presented to freshman Lyle Donaldson. "Lyle exploded on to the scene with a game winning home run against Roanoke and never looked back," Coach Carlyle said. “He was one of our best hitters down the stretch and we expect even more for the next 3 years."

Junior Dione Eccles earned the newcomer honor in women’s basketball. "Her 54-point performance was a culmination of hard work and an appreciation of her teammates,” said Coach Tuggle. “This year was just the beginning of some big things to come from Dione."

The newcomer honoree in swimming is freshman Taylor Layton. “Taylor scored points for the Pride in all three of her individual events at Atlantic States,” said Coach Budde.  “She recorded four top ten all-time Pride performances this year.”

The top newcomer is men’s soccer is freshman Grayson Leonard. “Many times, Grayson was the best player on the field and we are excited about his potential,” said Coach Brady. “As he continues to mature and bring consistency to his game, the sky is truly the limit."

The top newcomer in golf is freshman Josh Ryals. “By the end of the season Josh showed signs of being an outstanding collegiate golfer,” said Coach Tiernan.  “He worked extremely hard on his game and conducted himself with class and integrity both on and off the course.”

Paul Travers is the top newcomer in men’s cross country. “Paul has a natural gift to be one of the best runners to put on a Greensboro College  uniform,” Coach Tuggle said. “It is a real treat to have an athlete of his caliber in our program.”

The Top Newcomer in men’s lacrosse is junior Rudy Williams  "Rudy is our best cover guy and always has the ability to shut down the opposing teams top player,” said Coach Cetrone. “The team knows that we can always count on him to do his job game in and game out."
