Pride Men and Women Finish 3rd at Averett Invitational; Comune Again Sets GC Mark

Spurred by Tracey Comune and the men's team--which had three top 10 finishers--Pride cross country had a fine showing at the Averett Invitational. Both the GC men and women placed 3rd of 5 teams at the meet.

"We had a great day," said GC head coach Jill Shusterman. "I'm very happy with my team and how we're progressing."

On the women's side, senior Tracey Comune (Pequannock, NJ/ Pequannock) finished second overall. Her time of 21:29 broke her own Pride record (which she set last week). Comune has set the GC 5K mark on four occasions.

Other Pride women finishes: Kristi Hunter (11th, 23:26); Amanda Herron (14th, 24:34); Tara Gibson (18th, 25:08); Keri Collins (26th, 28:48); and Laurie Gray (27th, 29:15).

On the men's side, Lloyd Durham (6th, 30:38 ), Nick Dishler (9th, 31:50) and James Teel (10th, 32:08) led The Pride with three top-10 placers. Lucas Conkle (24th, 37:22) and Kevin Eagan (26th, 39:06) rounded out GC's male runners in the 8K race.
