GREENSBORO, NC--St. Augustine's College took the men’s team championship and Savannah College of Arts and Design women’s team finished first on the women's side of the Greensboro College Cross Country Invitational at Hagan Stone Parl on Saturday.
St. Augustine’s men team dominated the field. Last year’s NCAA Division II South Region Champion Alhasi Alhassan recorded a time of 26.41, conquering his closest competitor (teammate David Thornton) by almost two minutes: 28:32. In taking top team honors, St. Augustine’s placed six of its runners in the top ten compiling a team score of 21.

In the women’s section of the invitational, Savannah College of Arts and Design won the team championship garnering a total of 32 team points. Savannah team members placed second through fourth, led by Melanie Clarke (20:46). Clarke finished 17 seconds behind individual women’s champion Lalito Brim (20:29) from Ferrum College.
