Holbrook Sets GC Record and Leads Pride Men to third-Place Finish at Cougar Classic; Pride Women Place Sixth

DANVILLE, Va.--Doug Holbrook (Thomasville, NC/East Davidson HS ) set a new GC 8K record and led the Pride to a third place finish (of 7 teams) at the Cougar Classic. His mark of 28:44 broke the previous record of 28:50, set by Paul Williams at the 1998 Dixie Conference championships. 

Holbrook was fourth overall. GC's Tim Insley was 6th (29:19), Clarence Kinley was 7th (29:29), Michael Barnard was 12th (30:50), Nick Dishler finished 23rd (33:21) and Kevin Eagan was 27th (33:50). 

On the women's side, The Pride women placed 6th of 7 teams. Rebecca Beninghove was 16th (23:46), Kristi Hunter was 19th (24:19), Amanda Herron was 29th (26:11), Kate Roberton was 36th 27:54 and Keri Collins placed 42nd (28:59).
