Christopher Newport Tops USA South Cross Country Polls;
Greensboro College Picked Third on Men's and Women's Sides

The USA South Athletic Conference has announced the results of its 2004 cross country pre-season polls.  The Christopher Newport men and women were both picked to finish first this season.  Both Ferrum's men and women are predicted to finish second.  The poll is voted on by the cross country coach at each school. 

Greensboro College record-setter Doug Holbrook leads the GC men, who were picked third. The conference coaches picked The Pride women--who return two of five starters from 2003--to also place third. 

The Pride harriers open the 2004 season at the Virginia Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 4.
