PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C.-- Christopher Newport captured the USA South Men's cross country meet, held at Hagan-Stone Park. Five Captain runners finishing in the top seven of the event, for its 14th consecutive conference championship.

Husein Nasiro-Sigo of Methodist College finished first in a time of 26:57.1. It was Nasiro-Sigo's third straight year winning the conference individual title. Greensboro College's Francois Theriault (27:44.9) crossed in second before ten consecutive members of the Christopher Newport team completed the course.  Daniel Swale (28:05) led the way, with teammates Kyle Oakes (28:34.7), David Woodson (28:34.9), Tim Scott (28:56.7) and Mark Tynan (29:05.2) earning individual "all meet" honors for the Captains.

Along with Nasiro-Sigo, Methodist had two other top-20 finishers including Zach Yonk (30:18.3) and Adam Clouse (32:02.7), while helping the Monarchs to finish second as a team.
