PLEASANT GARDEN, N.C. --The Christopher Newport Lady Captains completed a sweep of the USA South cross country conference championship by placing eight runners among the top-10 in the competition en route to its ninth straight title. 

Ashley Ezell (24:32.3) lead all participants at the Hagan-Stone Park course, while Amy Wampler (25:18.1) and Amanda Fitzhugh (25:34.9) rounded out the top three while leading the way for Christopher Newport. 

Shenandoah, who finished second in the team competition with 70 points, placed four runners in the top-20 of the field. Heather Kochel (27:59.8) crossed in eighth place while Sarah Curruthers (28:20.7) placed 10th, with teammates Kelly Wright (30:05.9), Renee Krueger (30:31.1) rounding out the competition for the Hornets.
