Shusterman brings impressive credentials, and is no stranger to The Pride. She was an assistant coach for the Dixie Conference co-champion GC volleyball team in 1999. Shusterman also graduated from Greensboro College in 1994 and was a standout student-athlete for The Pride.

Currently a teacher at Brown Middle School in Thomasville, Shusterman was selected as the school's teacher-of-the-year in 1990-2000. She also was a finalist for the Davidson County teacher-of-the-year last year.

Shusterman played three sports at Greensboro College. She was a captain of the volleyball team from 1989-92. She also captained the tennis team for two seasons and played softball one season. An outstanding high school cross country runner, GC did not sponsor the sport when she was a Pride athlete. Shusterman was the Greensboro College NCAA Woman of-the-Year in 1992. She was a Dean's List student and made the DIAC Academic Team.

"We're delighted to have Jill as head coach of cross country teams," said Kim Strable, Pride athletics director. "She has a lot of coaching experience and brings other intangibles: Jill is a motivational speaker in her spare time, and is one of the most energetic people I've known."
