GC Football Falls at Methodist, 19-7; Licorish Runs for 119 Yards Nov. 9, 2003
Story by Stephanie Philip, GC '03, Pride sports information Greensboro college played against Methodist College on a very cold, windy Saturday afternoon. GC’s first defensive play looked like they were ready, but turnovers by the Pride gave Methodist a momentum in the beginning and The Pride could not overcome. The Monarchs won, 19-7. Desptie the loss, Freshman Jamal Licorish rushed for 119 yards on 30 carries. Senior Luke Irwin had the only score for GC, when he caught a pass from Justin Roberson in the back of the end zone. Defensively, senior Rick Tattersall led the team with 10 tackles. GC gave a valiant effort, but came up short at the end. GC’s final game of the season is at Washington and Lee on Nov. 15.
