Glen Collins, a
senior defender for the Greensboro College men's soccer team, was named
first team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches's Association of

losing to Ohio Weselyan, 1-0.
Used prinarily in the sweeper position for The Pride,
Collins was named Dixie Conference Player-of-the-Year in 2001. He was an
All South Region first team pick in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and earned Dixie
Conference first team honors in all four seasons at GC.
"Glen is a very deserving recipient of the this
honor," said Greensboro College Head Soccer Coach Rusty Scarborough. "He
was our team captain and team leader. Glen played with poise, skill and
good sportsmanship."
A member of the U-23 Kiwi National team in 2000,
Collins was a part of GC teams that compiled a 58-15-4 record in the past
four years. Additionally, Collins received the Fred Joseph Awards--the
highest athletic achievement for a Pride athlete--earlier this year.
Collins is the third Pride men's soccer player to
earn first team All-America status. Dan Collins and Richard Ronemus won
