Greensboro College Student-Athletes 
Earn Five USA South Weekly Honors

A season-high five Greensboro College student-athletes earned weekly honors awarded by the USA South Athletic Conference for their performances last week. The GC winners were:

Football - Defensive Player of the Week
           Richard Tattersall - The Swansboro, N.C. senior recorded seven solo and six assisted tackles in the Pride's 13-7 double overtime win over Chowan. The Pride is 2-0 for the first time in program history.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week
           Matt Brown - The sophomore from Delaware City, DE played 90 minutes in goal, facing 11 shots and made four saves as The Pride defeated 11th ranked Roanoke 2-0. GC is 5-0, its best start since the 1998 national runnerup season.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
           Samuel Hale - The Hyatsville, MD freshman defender helped lead the Pride to a 2-0 win over 11th-ranked Roanoke.  He assisted on one of the goals. GC is 5-0, its best start since the 1998 national runnerup season.

Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
          Kristen McGuire - The freshman from Sewell, NJ played a combined 125 minutes in goal for The Pride (2-1-2) in a 4-0 loss to Roanoke and a 0-0 double overtime tie with Lynchburg.  She faced 14 shots, allowed only two goals and recorded eight saves. This is her second time winning the honor.

Volleyball Rookie of the Week
         Laura Slack  - The freshman from High Point, NC led the team to a 2-2 record at the prestigious Trinity, Texas Tournament.  She averaged 1.06 kills, 2.2 service aces and 2.5 digs during that time.
