GC's Galen Reid scored unassisted 17 seconds into the match as The Pride defeated Averett, 1-0, in a USA South match at Pride Field on Wednesday. Reid's shot was a hard 25-yard blast from the right side.

The Pride did not tally again but out shot the Cougars, 32-0, in the contest. Averett's Jimmy Kalmoutis recorded 9 saves for AU (0-4, 0-1). 

GC's Matt Brown played the first 79 minutes and was replaced by Ryan Symonds for the remaining time. Neither keeper was forced to make a save.
