Bill Brady enters his fourth year as Greensboro College's men's soccer coach in 2008.
In his first three seasons, he has led The Pride to a conference championship and to the NCAA tournament. 2007
was The Pride's 13th trip to the postseason in the last 14 years.
GC finished 14-5-3 in 2007, the 16th straight year the program recorded 10 or more wins. The Pride posted 11 wins in Brady's first two years at Greensboro College. In his three years leading The Pride, Brady has a 36-21-7 record.
"I'm really pleased with our progress," Brady said. "I came to Greensboro College to be part of a winning tradition."
Brady previously served as head coach
at NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University. In 2002, Brady led St. Bonaventure
to its first-ever national ranking, as the Bonnies were ranked 12th for
one week in the NSCAA's top 20 poll. SBU also entered the same poll, tied
for 25th, during the 2004 season. The 2004 Bonnies posted a 6.5 win improvement,
tied for 4th best among DI teams that year.
In the 1999 season, his first as a
head coach, Brady led the Bonnies to their first Atlantic 10 Tournament
berth, an 8-4 mark in conference matches which was a school record for
A-10 victories.
Brady coached nine All-Atlantic 10
Conference players at St. Bonaventure including the 1999 conference player-of-the-Year.
He mentored one all region, and an addidas All-American scholar athlete
in '04.
Prior to coming to St. Bonaventure,
Brady was assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati for three years.
Brady capped a very successful stint there in 1998, when he helped the
Bearcats to an 11-5-3 record and their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.
Cincinnati also earned its first-ever national ranking and finished the
season ranked 27th.
Very active within the youth soccer
community, Brady coached the Olympic Development Program's New York West
age group '84 team to back-to-back regional semifinals. Brady is a licensed
coach with the Scottish Football Association.
He also served on the New York regional
selection committee for the NCAA for three years and most recently was
a member of the NSCAA regional ranking committee.
A 1995 graduate of Wheaton (Mass.)
College, Brady earned a bachelor's degree in political science. As a student-athlete,
Brady led Wheaton, an NCAA Division III member, to three straight ECAC
Tournament berths. A team co-captain, he was named to the All-New England Region Team in 1994,
and was Wheaton's Senior Athlete of the Year.
Brady also serves as the athletics marketing and promotions coordinator at GC. He and his wife, Sofia, have an
young son: Conrad.
