Men’s Lacrosse
Season
The Pride men’s lacrosse squad closed the year with
a 2-12 record. GC posted an opening day win over Lees McRae, 9-8.
Its next victory was a resounding 15-10 game over cross-town Guilford College
near season’s end.
Freshmen led The Pride on both offense and defense.
Attackman Nick Harness was GC’s top scorer.
He tallied 34 goals, had 13 assists and 47 points. Mike
Depersia and Matt Gabbard—both
first-year players—were third and fourth in Pride scoring.
On defense, frosh goalkeeper James
Teel started 13 games for Greensboro and recorded 160 saves. GC
also deployed three young defensemen in front of Teel.
“Inexperienced players received a chance to shine
and the squad never stopped fighting,” said Coach Dan
Cetrone. “The team will continue to play high caliber opponents,
and will only improve as young players mature.”
