Greensboro, N.C. --  Matt Perry scored seven goals and passed for one assist to lead Greensboro College (2-0) to a 16-10 win over visiting Cabrini College at Pride Field on Sunday. Freshman Jordan Kenney contributed two goals and one assist for GC.

"Our guys did a great job of executing our game plan," said Pride Head Coach Dan Cetrone. "Cabrini has a strong program and this was a very good result for us."

An NCAA playoff team and the PAC champions in 2004, Cabrini (0-1) got off to a slow start in its season-opener. The Pride led 5-1 after the first period and CC trailed 10-4 at halftime. 

Greensboro's biggest lead was 13-4 after Andrew Carey scored one of his two goals on an assist from Ronnie Chase (1 goals, 3 assists) with 11:39 left in the third period. The Cavs the scored the game's next three goals and trailed 13-7 with 9:14 left in regulation, but got no closer.

Rob Frisby added one goal and one helper for Greensboro. Corey Reina played a strong game in the nets for GC and stopped 15 Cavalier shots. Cabrini out-shot GC, 35-25. The home club, however, took 18-28 face-offs.

Paul Middleton tallied four times and passed for one assist for Cabrini.
