Lexington, Va. -- Washington & Lee (5-0) came from behind late in the fourth period and halted Greensboro College's upset bid, 11-10, on Wednesday. The fifth-ranked Generals were led by Gavin Molinelli who scored four goals and passed for three assists.

GC (4-1), the nation's 24th highest-rated club, rallied from an early 5-1 first quarter deficit to trail 6-5 at halftime. Behind 8-6 midway through the third quarter, The Pride scored the next three goals to take its first lead of the game. Jordan Kenney (three goals, two assists) scored from Shaun Frisby to put the score at 9-8 with 8:52 left in regulation.

The home club, however, responded with three unanswered tallies and held an 11-9 advantage with 4:37 remaining.  Kenney scored unassisted with two seconds on the clock for the final margin.

The Pride extra man unit had an excellent day against W&L. GC scored on seven of 11 extra man attempts. Greensboro's 10 goals scored were the most put on the Generals this year. They entered the contest allowing just six goals-per-game.

The Pride out shot W&L 33-29. Yet the home team dominated face-offs, winning 20 of 24. 

GC goalkeeper Corey Reina had 10 saves for The Pride. Freshman Dustin Harlowe found the net twice and had one assist. Ian Montgomery contributed two scores for Greensboro College.

All of W&L's wins have been by one goal.
