Dan Cetrone begins his tenth season of his head coaching career at Greensboro College in the 2007-08 season. He is the all-time winningest lacrosse coach at Greensboro College with 52 career victories.
Prior to last year's 5-9 campaign, Cetrone directed the 2006 team to its second straight 8-6 record. After starting 2006 with a 2-5 mark, The Pride finished the season with wins in 6 of its last 7 contests. Cetrone coached his first All-American,
Matt Perry, in 2006. He has mentored two North-South All-Stars and one
USILA Scholar All-American at GC.
Besides running the everyday activities
in The Pride men's lacrosse office, Coach Cetrone is the athletics recruitment
services coordinator at Greensboro College. With this position, Cetrone
works closely with the admissions department in developing and coordinating
recruiting strategies and activities, represents the athletics department
at open houses and Super Saturday events, and assists all other head coaches
with recruiting philosophies and protocols.
When he is not on campus, Cetrone helps the growth of the game of lacrosse in the Triad. He is the co-director of the Old North State Indoor Lacrosse League, the UNCG Spartan Lacrosse Camp, the 3 Star Lacrosse Camp, and the Greensboro Lacrosse Camp. Additionally, Cetrone is the head coach of the Triad Select Summer Lacrosse Club.
Prior to coming to Greensboro College, Cetrone was an assistant coach at Springfield College--his alma mater. He graduated from in 1996, contributed to an undefeated regular season and was a Division II National Runner Up in 1995. In 1994, Springfield won a Division II National Championship. His team won the ECAC New England Championship in 1993.
Cetrone, who grew up in Cheshire, CT, lives in Greensboro with his wife, Dora. They have two sons: Frankie and Matty.
