Frances Constantino (Burnsville, NC/Mountain Heritage), a sophomore outfielder for the Greensboro College Softball Team, was named to the Verizon CoSIDA South Region softball second team.

Constantino--a native of Burnsville, N.C. and graduate of Mountain Heritage High School--led The Pride in hitting (.471) and stolen bases (16) this year. She was GC's leadoff hitter and helped The Pride to a 21-13 record (its best statistical finish) in program history. Constantino earned All-Dixie Conference second team recognition last month.

A psychology major, Constantino carries a 3.72 grade point average. She's made the Dean's List every semester at GC and is a member of the Psi Chi psychology honors society.

Additionally, Constantino earned The Pride softball most improved player award at last week's Greensboro College athletic convocation.

"Frances has talent and speed but also a great desire to get better," said GC Head Coach Ben Guiliano. "We're proud of her on and off the field honors, and expect big things from her in the next two years."
