Game one: Averett 3, GC 2
Greensboro, N.C. -- GC pitcher Kristen Slade had 12 strikeouts and led 2-0 in the sixth inning, but visiting Averett rallied for three runs in the top of sixth en route to the win. Heather Mull earned the win for the Cougars.
Darlene Shipe singled in two runs for the game-winning hit. Averett knocked five hits in the sixth frame.
GC scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings on RBI base hits from Margaret Hamm and Jenee Johnson.

Game two: GC 5, Averett 1
Greensboro, N.C. -- Greensboro College's Jamie Pittman led The Pride at the plate and on the mound in a 5-1 win over Averett in the second game of a USA South doubleheader on Tuesday.
As a pitcher, Pittman (4-2) scattered five hits, struck out five and walked one Cougar and earned the complete game win. She helped her cause with her bat, going 3-4 with 2 RBI.
GC pounded out 12 hits and scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, breaking a 1-1 tie. Whitney Williams was 2-3 with 2 RBI. Freshman Jenee Johnson went 2-3 with a double, and two runs scored. Jessica Clack went 2-3 with 1 RBI.
