Game One: GC 8, Shenandoah 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Freshman Erica Brown hurled a complete game shutout as GC bested visiting Shenandoah, 8-0, in the first game of a USA South DH at Salvation Army Field. Brown (2-1) allowed just two, hits walked none and struck out eight Hornets.

The game was scoreless through 3 1/2 innings. GC, which had 11 hits, broke the game open with the three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and four in the sixth inning.

Senior Frances Constantino led Pride hitters. She was 4-4 with 3 runs, 3 stolen bases and 2 RBI. Jamie Pittman went 3-4 with one run and 4 RBI and Jennifer Simms was 2-4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.

Game Two: GC 3, Shenandoah 2 (9 innings)

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Jennifer Sherrill singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift GC over SU, 3-2, on Saturday. (17-5, 5-1). Sherrill was 2-4 in the game.

Freshman Jordan Davenport started on the mound for The Pride. She threw six innings, allowed just one unearned run, struck out seven and walked none. Stacie Patterson (4-0), however, pitched the last thee innings and earned the victory.
