Indianapolis, IN -- Kama Tucker, Greensboro College's softball coach, has been picked to serve on the NCAA Division III softball championships selection committee.

Entering her third year as GC's fastpitch coach, she led The Pride to a 24-14 mark in 2005--the best season ever of Greensboro softball. The green and white also placed second in the USA South regular season: the highest finish of any Pride softball team. Tucker was picked USA South Coach-of-the-Year following the regular season.

Last month, Tucker was selected to the advisory board of the fledgling Atlantic Coast Fastpitch League. The ACFL is a women's summer collegiate softball league--similar to baseball's Coastal Plains League--that will begin play in June 2006.

Tucker and Greensboro College Softball worked the NCAA YES (Youth Education through Sports) Clinics at the 2005 Division I and Division II World Series. Tucker was a Field Director at the Division II YES Clinic in Salem, Va. and assisted at the NCAA DI YES Clinic in Oklahoma City, OK.

In 2004--her rookie year--Tucker led The Pride to a 14-18-2 overall record. Prior to coming to GC, Tucker had been the assistant softball coach at Peace College for two seasons. As a player, she was a two-time team MVP, all-conference player and tournament MVP at Barton College.
