Greensboro College Volleyball Sweeps Two; Senior Stephanie Hartman Recognized

The GC volleyball team swept its two contests in today's USA South Tri Match at Hanes Gym.

Second match: GC d. Chowan 3-0 (30-12, 30-11, 30-10)

Katie Smith recorded a match-high 10 assists to lead GC.  Senior Day Honoree Stephanie Hartman added 16 assists and 3 service aces. For Chowan, Christina Eteuati had 9 kills and Rebecca Mainquist collected 9 digs.

   Stephanie Hartman has had an illustrious career at Greensboro College, both on and off the volleyball court. She was first team all-conference pick in 2002 and a second team selection in '01. The Morganton, N.C. native won the 2002 Craven E. Williams award—the highest honor that combines both academics and athletics at GC. She also earned first team CoSIDA regional academic team honors last year and is again on the ballot this season.

First Match: GC d. Shenandoah 3-0 (30-12, 30-17, 30-15) 
 
Sarah Davis posted match highs of 14 kills and 13 assists to lead GC over the Hornets 3-0. The Pride hit an impressive .500 for the match. Stephanie Hartman had 5 of GC's 15 aces. Karen Gordon added 11 kills and 3 blocks. Katie Smith had 10 kills. For SU, Hannah Williams had 9 kills and and Jenny Gray recorded 9 digs.
