Men's Soccer Player of the
Week
Matt Brown, Greensboro - The
Delaware City, DE junior goalkeeper led to the Pride to a win and a tie
this week. GC defeated Conference rival Methodist, 3-1 and tied Piedmont,
0-0. Brown played all 200 minutes of the two games, faced 16 shots and
only allowed one goal, which came on a penalty kick. The Pride's victory
over MC secured their second place Conference finish.
Volleyball Player of the Week
Katie Smith, Greensboro- The
Colfax, NC junior led the Pride to a 4-0 week, including a huge 3-1 Conference
win over Averett. Over the course of 11 games, the middle hitter hit .301
and averaged 5.18 kills. This is the fourth consecutive week Smith has
been honored with this award. The Pride defeated Averett, 3-1, Bridgewater,
3-0, Shenandoah, 3-0 and Chowan, 3-0.
Men's Soccer Rookie of the
Week
Hunter Burrows, Greensboro-
The freshman defender from Greensboro, NC played a key role in the Pride
picking up a huge Conference win and a tie this week. He helped GC to a
shut out and one goal in 200 minutes of play. GC defeated Methodist, 3-1,
and tied Piedmont, 0-0.
Women's Soccer Rookie of the
Week
Ashely Cabral, Greensboro-
The West Haven, CT freshman forward had a strong week as the Pride went
1-1. She racked up three goals and two assists in a 10-1 win over Peace.
The Pride also lost to Chowan, 3-1.
Volleyball Rookie of the Week
Keshia Judd, Greensboro - The freshman
from Garner, NC led the Pride to a 4-0 record for the week. Over the course
of 12 games, she averaged 2.33 kills and hit just under .300. The Pride
defeated Averett, 3-1, Bridgewater, 3-0, Shenandoah, 3-0, and Chowan, 3-0.
