GC Volleyball's Katie Smith Named Honorable Mention All-American

Colorado Springs, CO -- Greensboro College junior Katie Smith has been named Honorable Mention All-American, announced the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA).

Smith, a native of Colfax, NC and a graduate of Northwest Guilford High School, led the USA South Conference in kills and blocks. She recorded 4.9 kills, 1.49 digs and 1.4 blocks per game for GC. Earlier this month, Smith was picked USAS player-of-the-year.

The middle hitter lead The Pride to a 27-10 record and a tie for first place (12-2) in the USA South. Smith has earned three USAS first team honors, and was also named conference rookie-of-the-Year in 2002.
