Pride Men Chosen First and
GC Women Second in USA South Soccer Polls

August 25, 2004 - The USA South Athletic
Conference has announced the results of its 2004 men's and women's soccer
pre-season polls. On the women's side, Christopher Newport has been
picked to finish first, with Greensboro following at second. For
the men, GC is predicted to win it all, edging out CNU by one point in
the voting. The pole is voted on by the soccer coach at each school.
The Captains' women finished tied
for first with Greensboro and Methodist last year. The Pride won
the tournament. GC is seeking its third staright postseason bid under first-year
Head Coach Tracy Ducar.
Also in 2003, the GC men finished
third in the regular season but won the tournament. CNU won the regular
season title. Head Coach Rusty Scarborough hopes to direct The Pride
to its 11th consecutive NCAA appearance in 2004.
