C.C. Vaughan scored a game high 25 points
and had 20 rebounds to lead visiting Chowan College (14-6, 12-2) over Greensboro
College, 65-53, in a USA South game at Hanes Gym on Monday night. Vaughan
was 9-12 form the field and made 6-8 free throws.
The Pride started out strong and led 20-6 half
way through the first period. The Braves, however, went on an 24-10 run
over the last 10 minutes of the half and tied the game at the break.
Three Pride players reached double figures in the
game. Sally Rice and Ruthanne Clark each tallied 14 points.
Rice grabbed 13 rebounds and Clark converted 10-13 free throws and passed
for 5 assists. Paris Buckner, who made 3 three-pointers, tossed
in 11 points for the home club.
