VA – CNU’s women’s basketball team defeated Greensboro College Sunday afternoon
93-60.
The Lady Captains
took control early as they led at halftime 48-30. CNU was 19-of-39
(49%) from the floor, 1-of-4 (25%) on three-point attempts and 9-of-13
(69%) from the free throw line. CNU held the Lady Pride to 9-of-25
(36%) shooting from the field, 3-of-10 (30%) on threes and 9-of-12 (75%)
from the free throw line.
The second
half was the same as the Lady Captains continued their pressure defense
and forced 22 Greensboro turnovers for the game. The Lady Pride finished
the second half on just 6-of-33 (18%) shooting from the floor, 3-of-14
(21%) on threes and 15-of-18 (83%) from the charity stripe. CNU finished
13-of-27 (48%) from the field in the second half, 5-of-8 (63%) on threes
and 14-of-15 (93%) from the free throw line.
For the game,
GC finished 15-of-58 (26%) from the floor, 6-of-24 (25%) on threes and
24-of-30 (80%) from the free throw line. The Lady Captains finished
32-of-66 (49%) from the floor, 6-of-12 (50%) on three’s and 23-of-28 (82%)
from the charity stripe.
The Pride were
led by Paris Buckner and Christina Daniels finished with
12 points each.
