GC 50, Methodist 47 

Freshman Paris Buckner hit the winning basket in the final minute and scored a team-high 9 points to lead Greensboro College to a 50-47 win over Methodist in Fayetteville on Wednesday night. 

Buckner's jump shot with 44 seconds left broke a 47-47 tie. She was fouled on the play and converted the free throw for the final tally. The Monarchs had two possessions to tie the game, but failed. 

GC trailed at halftime 24-20 but outscored MC 30-23 in the last 20 minutes. Defense prevailed in the game as The Pride shot 28 percent (19-68) to Methodist's 27 percent (19-70). The Pride out-rebounded the home team, 56-47. 

Sophomore DaVenna Brown had 10 rebounds and 6 assists and freshman Amoria Bird scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for GC.
