GC 63, CHOWAN 55: PRIDE KNOCKS OFF REGION'S TOP RANKED TEAM

Greensboro, N.C. -- Sirlena Moore scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds as Greensboro College (9-5) defeated Chowan College, 63-55, in a non-conference game at Hanes Gym on Monday night. Chowan (12-3) entered the game ranked first in the South region.

Kim Enoch also notched a double-double for Greensboro with 14 point and 11 rebounds. The game was Enoch's first after missing the last 5 contests due to injury. Ruthanne Clark added 13 points and DaVenna Brown passed for a game high 8 assists and had 4 steals for The Pride.

GC led 40-30 at the break. The Braves, however, outscored The Pride 17-2 to start the second half and led 47-42 11:06 remaining. The home club then went on a 21-8 run the rest of the way for the final result.

Keyon Sellers talled a game high 20 points (15 in the first half) for Chowan. Christina Addison chipped in with 13 and Joi Hazel added 10 the visitors.

GC out-rebounded the Braves 50-35 and outshot CC 37-percent (22-60) to 33-percent (20-61). The Pride victory was its fifth in its last 6 games.
