Greensboro College 46, Meredith College 45

Greensboro, N.C. -- DaVenna Brown made two free throws with 9.5 seconds left to lift Greensboro College (5-4) to a non-conference win over Meredith, 46-45, at Hanes Gym on Saturday.

Meredith's (2-3) Nicole Miller had a shot before time expired, but the ball rimmed out.

Freshman Alison Blackmon led The Pride in scoring. She recorded 13 points. Jamie Funk and Sirlena Moore each had 11 rebounds for GC. The Pride out-rebounded the Angels, 55-44.

Amira Issa of MC was the game's leading scorer and rebounder with 14 points and 16 boards.

The Pride led 29-24 at halftime. Meredith, however, went on an 11-2 run in the first 5:26 of the second half and led 35-31 with 14:34 remaining. 

The Pride had seven more field goals (20) than the visitors (13). The Angels converted 15-25 free throws in the game. GC, on the other hand, was 4-17 from the charity stripe. And it was Brown's last two that counted most for the home team.
