Tammy Dixon was named head
women's lacrosse coach at Greensboro College, announced Athletics Director
Kim Strable. She will also serve as an assistant women's soccer coach for
The Pride.
Dixon was an assistant for the GC
women's lacrosse team, and was the head women's lacrosse coach at Greensboro
Day School this past year. She also was an elementary school teacher for
the Guilford County School District.
Prior to relocating to Greensboro,
Dixon served as the head women's lacrosse and assistant women's soccer
coach at Randolph (N.J.) High School.
Dixon received her bachelor's degree
from Millersville (Pa.) University. The Morristown, N.J. native was an
all-conference and four-year letter-winner for the Marauders. She also
played three years of varsity soccer at Millersville.
Dixon replaces Mike Lackemacher, who
resigned after leading GC the past three years. Lackemacher led The Pride
to a 7-8 finish this year--the most victories in school history. Dixon
inherits a squad that went 5-0 in Dixie Conference games, and captured
the inaugural DIAC regular season and tournament championships.
