March 31, 2001 GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Greensboro College beat visiting Shenandoah, 11-0, at Pride Field on Saturday. The game was the first ever Dixie women's lacrosse contest. Pride goalie Stephanie Schaeffer recorded her first career shutout. The sophomore stopped 15 Hornet shots. "Our defense stepped up," said Coach Mike Lackemacher. "We did a good job clearing the ball and the team communicated well. Stephanie continues to be solid in the cage." On offense, GC was led by Lorin Smith. The sophomore tallied 3 goals and had 2 assists. Rebecca Benninghove and Shea Campbell each scored twice for GC. Greensboro (3-3, 1-0) travels to Hollins on Tuesday. Shenadoah dropped to 0-2, 0-1. .
