Selected to Prestigious North-South All-Star Lacrosse Game

Greensboro College's Kate
Roberton (Rockville, MD/Magruder) has been picked to play in the
women's lacrosse Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game. Presented
by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), the
game will be June 4 at 11 a.m. at UMBC in Baltimore, Md.
Roberton, a senior and four-year
starter, led GC with 21 caused turnovers on defense. She was named to the
USA South first team for the second straight year last month. A second
team all-conference selection in '03, Roberton also earned USA South All-Tournament
distinction in her junior and sophomore campaigns.
A winner of the 2003-04 Craven E.
William's Award--the highest academics and athletics honor presented to
a rising senior student athlete--she
graduated from Greensboro College
earlier this month. Roberton majored in English and communications and
minored in French and international studies. She maintained a cumulative
grade point average of 3.7 and was a member of the Greensboro College Honor’s
program.
Roberton was a member of three conference
champion teams during her four seasons of Pride lacrosse. As for extracurricular
areas, she was a Student Assistant Marshal; treasurer for her senior class;
member of ODK, the Collegian staff, ICCH and the Chamber Choir.
Roberton is the second GC player
to participate in the prestigious farewell game. Stephanie Schaeffer was
selected in 2003.
