Greensboro College's Kate Roberton (Rockville, MD/Magruder) has been picked to play in the women's lacrosse Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game. Presented by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), the game will be June 4 at 11 a.m. at UMBC in Baltimore, Md.

Roberton, a senior and four-year starter, led GC with 21 caused turnovers on defense. She was named to the USA South first team for the second straight year last month. A second team all-conference selection in '03, Roberton also earned USA South All-Tournament distinction in her junior and sophomore campaigns.

A winner of the 2003-04 Craven E. William's Award--the highest academics and athletics honor presented to a rising senior student athlete--she
graduated from Greensboro College earlier this month. Roberton majored in English and communications and minored in French and international studies. She maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.7 and was a member of the Greensboro College Honor’s program.

Roberton was a member of three conference champion teams during her four seasons of Pride lacrosse. As for extracurricular areas, she was a Student Assistant Marshal; treasurer for her senior class; member of ODK, the Collegian staff, ICCH and the Chamber Choir.

Roberton is the second GC player to participate in the prestigious farewell game. Stephanie Schaeffer was selected in 2003.
