Robert B. Lowe

Bob Lowe arrived at Greensboro College in the Fall of 1999. He is responsible for providing publicity for GC's 16 intercollegiate athletic teams.

During his service at GC, Lowe has been a pioneer in the field of Internet webcasting. He is the driving force behind PrideNet, which offers live and archived streaming media of Greensboro College athletic events. In addition, Lowe has also been responsible for upgrading the college's athletic web site. 

In 2004 and '05, Lowe served as media coordinator for the NCAA Division III men's and women's soccer championships. The highly successful events were held in the Gate City and hosted by Greensboro College.

A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Lowe received two first place regional writing awards in 2000 from the professional organization. He serves on CoSIDA's computer committee and has had a number of professional articles published in the CoSIDA Digest

At the 2000, 2001 and 2004 CoSIDA Conventions, Lowe led discussions regarding broadcasting on the Internet. At the 2004 convention, Lowe also served on a panel discussion concerning technology. He was selected chairman of the CoSIDA Technology committee in July of 2003 and has helped coordinate technology sessions each year at the workshop.

Lowe has served as a statistician for the Class A Burlington Indians/Roayls. He also has provided public address announcing for the Greensboro Coliseum. Lowe has been the host media director for numerous other NCAA and USA South championships. He also volunteers at the Wyndham Championships, Greensboro's PGA Tour event.

In the summer of 2002, Lowe helped form the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA). Since that time, NCCSIA has honored more than 350 "All State" student athletes. He currently serves as the organization's treasurer.

Prior to arriving at Greensboro College, Lowe held a similar position at Santa Ana (Ca.) College for three years. In addition, the Whittier, Calif. native was publisher of Coast Compute Magazine.

Lowe received a bachelor's degree in journalism--with an emphasis in radio and television news--from San Diego State University. He resides in Greensboro with his wife, Kim, and young daughter, Brinley.
