| Dan Planck
was hired as an assistant baseball coach at Greensboro College in January,
2001. He works with outfielders and assists in recruiting for The Pride.
Planck is a 2000 cum laude
graduate of Gardner-Webb University. He helped GWU to the NCAA Division
II World Series. He holds the career saves and single-season saves records
at the Boiling Springs, N.C. school.
Planck pitched professionally
last summer with division champion Evansville of the Frontier League. He
led the Otters in appearances (29) had a 1.89 ERA. Prior to arriving at
GC, Planck was the assistant manager for Footaction USA in Asheville, N.C.
