Scott Rash

Scott Rash, Greensboro College's only head baseball coach since The Pride began playing the sport in 1993, has resigned his post. Rash has accepted the assistant director for development for athletics at Randolph Macon (Va.) College, his alma mater.

Rash closed his nine year career with a 170-165-4 record (.507 winning percentage). His victory total includes five consecutive 20-win seasons. In 1995, he was named Dixie Conference Coach-of-the-Year when Greensboro's young program reached 20 wins for the first time. Rash won the same award in 1998.

Under Rash's direction, The Pride enjoyed its best season in 1998. The Pride finished that season 27-13. In '98, GC won the Dixie Conference Tournament and made its first appearance ever in the NCAA Playoffs. The 2001 Pride team went 19-16.

A four-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection, Rash was honored as ODAC Baseball Player-of-the-Year during his senior season. While at Randolph-Macon, he earned a bachelor of science degree in business/economics in 1989.

Last fall, Rash was promoted to assistant athletic director for recruitment and marketing. In addition to coaching The Pride, Rash will also spearhead athletic recruitment and marketing efforts for GC's 16 intercollegiate athletic teams.

"Scott Rash has been synonymous with GC baseball," said Kim Strable, GC's athletic director. "His efforts in starting our program and quickly becoming a contender in one of the toughest NCAA Division III conferences in the nation are tremendous accomplsihments."

Rash is married to his high school sweetheart, Stacy. They are parents of two sons, Austin and Brandon.

Greensboro College will begun a search to fill the head baseball coaching position. Specific job information is available on the college web site at: http://www.gborocollege.edu/2athletics.htm
