Game 1: GC 3, Methodist 2 (10 innings) 
Kevin Mong led GC--both on the mound and at the plate--to a 3-2 win in the opener at Fayetteville on Friday. 

Mong (3-1) started his first USA South game and pitched a 10 inning complete game. He also singled in the 10th to drive in Kris Wiggins (who walked) for the winning run. Mong was 3-5 with the 1 RBI for GC. He struck out 7 and walked 4 Monarch batters. 

Chad Alligood was 2-4 with a double, 1 run and 1 RBI for The Pride. Teammate Jeremy Morrison went 2-5 for the visitors. 

Game 2: GC 1, Methodist 0 
Andrew Keever picked up his 7th complete game in The Pride's 1-0 win over the Monarchs in the nightcap. Keever (6-2) fanned 5 MC batters and allowed 5 hits. 

The game's only run came on a Larry Lockhart home run in the 6th inning. Lockhart was 2-3 at the plate for GC. 

The DH sweep gave The Pride its 6th 20-win season and first since 1999. Additionally, GC's 8 conference wins are the most in program history.
