Tufts 6, GC 2 

Visiting Tufts University (3-2) came from behind to defeat Greensboro College (18-8), 6-2, at War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.  The Jumbo victory was its third straight. 

Both of The Pride's runs were unearned. Brent Justice walked and was eventually driven in by a Larry Lockhart sacrifice fly in the first inning. In the second frame, Jesse Sutton reached on a base on balls. He then stole second and advanced to third base on an error. Tufts hurler Jeremy Davis, who improved to 1-1 as the winning pitcher, then balked Sutton to home. Davis pitched 7 innings and had 8 strikeouts for TU. 

The Jumbos scored two runs in the fourth to tie the game. GC's Matt Tully relieved starter Jeff Pothoven in the next inning. Chris Decembrele (2-4 with with 1 run) had the game-winning RBI that scored Nick Palange. Tully (1-1) gave up 3 runs and earned the loss. 

Jeremy Morrison went 2-5 with a stolen base and Orlando Lago was 2-4 for the home team. Kyle Backstrom and Bryan McDavitt were both 2-4 for Tufts. Palange hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for the visitors.
