The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for baseball. Greensboro College student-athletes earned five awards, second most among the conference's eight teams.

GC's AnDrew Keever (Annapolis, MD/Broadneck) was named USA South pitcher-of-the-year. A sophomore, Keever was also named to the all-conference first team. He posted a 6-2 record and 44 strikeouts this season.  Keever was 4-2 in Conference play and posted a 1.91 ERA against USA South teams.

Joining Keever on the first team was outfielder Jeremy Morrison (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor). A junior, Morrison is hitting .408 for The Pride. He had a conference record 26-game hitting streak snapped earlier this year. Morrison has stolen 17-23 bases and boasts a team-leading .513 on-base percentage.

Chosen to the second team were juniors Kevin Mong (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) and Chad Alligood (Nashville, NC/Northern Nash).

A second team pick last year, first-baseman Mong is batting .327 with 13 doubles and 27 RBI for GC. Alligood is second on the club with a .339 batting average. The second baseman has knocked 14 doubles and has a .971 fielding percentage for The Pride.

The Pride finished 8-13 in the USA South regular season and is 20-15 overall. GC begins play in the USA South Tournament in Danville, Va. on Wednesday. The Pride closes the 2004 regular season with two home games next week.
