Saturday, March 13 

Game 1: GC 13, CNU 3

A 9-run 6th inning propelled Greensboro College to a 13-3 win over third-ranked Christopher Newport in the first game of a doubleheader at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday. 

GC pitcher AnDrew Keever won a battle of unbeaten hurlers. Keever (4-0) pitched a complete game, allowed 2 earned runs and 7 hits. CNU's Eben Brower dropped to 3-1 with the defeat. 

GC scored its 13 runs on 13 hits against the Captains, last year's NCAA Division III national runnersup. 

Chad Alligod was 3-4 with 2 runs, a double and 3 RBI to lead the GC offense. Zach Tacelli went 2-3 with 4 RBI and a stolen base. Jeremy Morrison (2-3, 3 runs) extended his hitting streak to 23 games. Kevin Mong was 2-4 with 1 run and 2 RBI. 

Game 2: CNU 12, GC 2 

In the nightcap, Mike Cosby pitched 8 innings and allowed just 2 runs to lead the Captains over The Pride, 12-2. Five CNU batters had 2 hits in the game. 

For GC, Erik Kutz (2-3) took the loss on the hill. Larry Lockhart went 2-5 to lead Pride batters. Jeremy Morrison (1-4) extended his hitting streak to 24 games.
