Andrew Fleischacker enters his fourth year at Greensboro College in 2007. He coaches catchers and first basemen, and is The Pride's recruiting coordinator. Under his direction, GC catchers have earned back-to-back USA South first team honors. Fleischacker has helped recruit one conference player of the year, a second team All-American, 2 NCCSIA All-State picks, 10 USA South first team honorees, and 4 all region selections. Since arriving in Greensboro, Fleischacker has coached for the Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plains League, as well as for the Salinas Valley Packers of the California Collegiate League. Additionally, he has served as a catching instructor at the following camps: Duke University; University of Virginia; Appalachian State University and Best of Virginia. Prior to arriving at Greensboro College, "Coach Fly" coached and played for 7 seasons in Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. He also served as an envoy coach for Major League Baseball International. In between European stints, Fleischacker coached for three years at Chaminade High School in Hollywood, Fla., his alma mater. He played for Demi Mainieri--father of LSU Head Coach Paul Mainieri--at Miami-Dade North Community College. Coach Fleischacker is single and lives in Greensboro. --PRIDE-- |
