"Our guys played a near perfect game," said GC Head Coach Ken Carlyle. "I'm  disappointed we didn't close out the game, but we nearly stole one from a very good team today." 

Freshman lefty Chris Mock allowed no runs and just two hits in 3 2/3 innings for The Pride. He struck out four and allowed three base on balls. Brandon Jorth close out the fourth frame and pitched two scoreless innings before Northwood made its comeback. Pride pitchers had hurled 13 scoreless innings prior to that seventh inning.

GC scored single runs in the first, fifth and sixth innings. Kevin Mong was 2-4 with 2 RBI and Anthony Aversano collected 2 hits and stole one base in 3 at-bats from the DH spot. Larry Lockhart legged a triple and scored once in three trips to the plate for The Pride. Zach Nichols doubled, took one base, and scored in 2 at-bats. Brent Justice stole two bases for GC.

West Palm Beach, Fla. -- Andrew Keever pitched six scoreless innings and gave up just three hits to lead Greensboro College over NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic, 7-0, on Friday. Keever struck out four batters and allowed one walk.

The Pride scored five runs in the first inning and added one more in the third and fifth innings. Kevin Mong went 2-4 with a double and 2 runs to lead GC at the plate. Taylor Kennedy was 2-3 with 2 RBI and Jesse Sutton collected two hits, one run and one RBI in three trips to the plate.
