Lynchburg 8, Greensboro 7
Greensboro, N.C. -- Lynchburg College erased a 6-4 Greensboro lead in the 6th inning to defeat The Pride, 8-7, at War Memorial Stadium on Wednesday. GC rallied with one run in the bottom of the 7th, but could get no closer.
Josh Walker went 5-5 to lead LC, which had 16 hits. Kirk Messick earned the win for the Hornets (2-2).
For Greensboro (3-4) Leadoff batter Jeremy Morrison went 2-4 with 1 RBI to top GC hitters. Chad Alligood homered for The Pride and Larry Lockhart doubled and scored one run.
GC Freshman Chris Mock started and pitched 4 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked two Hornets. Chatham Bray pitched 1/13 innings and took the loss for The Pride. In all, five pitchers took the hill for The Pride.
