On the mound for GC, starting pitcher Kevin Showe (2-0) allowed six hits and one unearned run, before giving way to The Pride bullpen after five complete innings.

Vassar (0-5) took advantage of a Pride miscue, when leadoff batter Chris Maceira reached on an error by shortstop Jeff Gregory.  Maceira scored two batters later on a single to left by Marc Ramos, giving Vassar a 1-0 lead.  The run allowed marks the first time at home since February 20th that The Pride allowed the visitors a run in the first inning.

GC responded with a two-out single to center by Kevin Mong, that scored Brent Justice from second, and tying the game at 1-1 at the end of one complete.

With runners at first and second following consecutive walks GC, Gregory tripled to left field cleared the bases, giving GC a 3-1 advantage.  Gregory scored after Jeremy Morrison singled to left field, adding an insurance run for The Pride in a  4-1 advantage.

Following two scoreless innings for both teams, GC started the fifth inning with back-to-back hits by Jesse Sutton and a double to left field by Mong.  Sutton advanced home on a pass ball that trickled beneath catcher Will Sugerman.  Two batters later the GC registered the third hit of the inning, and second double, when rightfielder Anthony Aversano scored Mong from third, giving The Pride a 6-1 lead through five complete.

In the top half of the seventh, the Brewers cut the GC lead in half, manufacturing two runs in the inning.

Kristaps Aldins, with runners on first and second, singled to right field, scoring Chris Maciera from third.  Left fielder Mike Murn brought home the second run of the Brewers inning, with a single to right field, scoring Marc Ramos.

Leading 6-3, The Pride added two insurance runs in the eighth.  Leading off the eighth with a double to left field, Chad Alligood scored on a right field single by Gregory.  Following a walk and a wild pitch, moving Gregory to third base, a single to right field by Justice scored the second GC run of the inning, and an 8-3 final.
