Keever, Lockhart and Mong Earn
Three Greensboro College student athletes was named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division baseball team. AnDrew Keever, infielder Kevin Mong and outfielder Larry Lockhart were tabbed all-state by NCCSIA members. The three helped GC to a 24-16, the third most wins in GC baseball history. A senior from Franlkin, PA, Mong is the Pride’s three-time MVP and this season led the club in batting average (.380), hits (54), doubles (15) and RBIs (39). He was picked to the CoSIDA regional academic team earlier this month. Lockhart was named USA South’s Player of the Year after hitting .371 with a team-leading six home runs and 39 RBIs. A senior, Lockhart hails from Monroe, NC. A native of Anapolis, MD, Keever went 8-2 with a 2.12 ERA, setting school records for wins and ERA in a season. The junior was a recent winner of the Craven E. Williams Award for academics and athletics, Keever has the most pitching wins and shutouts in Pride baseball. Mong and Lockhart were First Team All-USA South picks while Keever made the Second Team. North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association 2005 College Division All-State Baseball Team
