The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for baseball.  Greensboro's Larry Lockhart (Monroe, N.C.) was the Player of the Year, leading six Pride honorees.

Lockhart, a senior from Monroe, NC, led the conference in homeruns (5), RBI's (33) and doubles (11). The outfielder batted .369 as he scored 30 runs.  Lockhart had 11 doubles on his way to a .658 slugging percentage. The Pride finished 20-14 overall and 8-7 in the USA South. 

Joining Lockhart on the conference first team were Kevin Mong and Taylor Kennedy  (Siler City, NC/Jordan Matthews). A senior, Mong hit .383 and had 32 RBI for The Pride and became the all-time GC home run leader (16) earlier this month. He also went 3-2 and posted a 3.26 ERA as a Pride pitcher. Sophomore catcher Kennedy batted .302 threw out nine base-runners.

Second team honorees were Jeremy Morrison (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) and AnDrew Keever (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck). An outfielder, Morrison hit .336 for GC and stole a team-leading 14 bases.  The ace of the pitching staff, Keever compiled a 5-2 record and a 2.60 ERA.

Brent Justice (Hillsborough, NC/Orange) was named to the honorable mention team. He batted .323 as The Pride's third-baseman and led the club lead in run scored (31).

In other awards, Methodist's Ryan Brandt is the Pitcher of the Year.  N.C. Wesleyan's Matt Smith has been named the Rookie of the Year and Kenny Moreland from Christopher Newport is the Rookie Pitcher of the Year. Methodist coach Tom Austin is the 2005 USA South Coach of the Year.
